Orienteering race 59:34 [4] 6.4 km (9:18 / km)

Cromford Moor, Brown course. Frankly awful area. When it wasn't green with waist deep braken it was near vertical slopes with huge crags. Oh yeah and the map was unusable in places. Lost maybe 4 minutes at 5 where imo the wall that was mapped in the re-entrant turned out to be nearly at the top of the hill. Ended up getting stuck in an area of fallen trees with braken and brambles on top of them. Nearly died at 8 where the control was halfway up a ~15m crag despite being descriped as foot of crag. Couple of other errors that where partially the map partially me. Anyway, as a race it was pointless so all ill say is I finished. That's all.

Note

Spent quite a lot of the day at a mini Ultra Sprint thing where I'd helped put out controls and set up generally. Ran one course in a coat and jeans, won, felt my dominance was asserted and then just helped with download.

Harriers with a few new people and Tim. But slower this time. Basically the same route as Tuesday just in reverse with a couple of slight variations. This point to point race on Tuesday seems to be being taken very seriously!

Yateholme and digley. Gorgeous day.

Running 1:05:00 [3] 13.0 km (5:00 / km)

Trail run with harriers. Going with a new group as Alwyns speed sessions have stopped for the summer. Basically checked out routes for a point to point race next Tuesday that I'm probably going to do. Running time logged but probably stood around discussing routes for a good 20 minutes in total. Hopefully won't be so bad on a normal run.
