Running warm up/down 25:00 [3] 5.0 km (5:00 / km)

Run out to Osprey Close and back.

Running intervals 20:00 [5] 4.0 km (5:00 / km)

1 mile [60s]. 300m [300m], 200m [60s] x3. Missed out the last mile effort. Awful headwind for half the loop. Mile time was 5:30 although its pretty irrelevant considering the wind and then the significant climb as well.

Had to run forward while planning a leg on Lancaster Uni map and then Sprint back to the start once we'd done it.

Sprintervals around Sheffield planned by Nick L. Started before and after dad although he wasn't running fast.

Running 20:00 [2] 3.5 km (5:43 / km)

Jog around the route before the relay started.

Running race 13:34 [5] 3.5 km (3:53 / km)

Northern road relays. Ran 8th leg for Holmfirth Harriers. Fairly pleased with the time. Went out 16th, came back 16th so that's okay. I held my own I think. Team finished 14th in the end so I think that's alright?

Standard 2 mile warm up plus standard drills for 10 mins

Running hills 15:00 [3] 2.4 km (6:15 / km)

6 x 200m [200m] hills up Station Road. Would have done more but i've been told to 'rest' for the Northern Road Relays on Saturday in Liverpool. Anyone else going?

Standard run to Honley Library and 2 laps.

Running intervals 20:00 [5] 5.0 km (4:00 / km)

2000m [500m], 2000m [500m]. Not fun. Still felt Sunday's race in my legs, sore.

Running 35:00 [3] 8.0 km (4:23 / km)

Run back to the club and then all the way back home, no lift available *grumble*.

Orienteering race 2:25:22 [3] 14.8 km (9:49 / km)

Tim Watkins Blodslitet. Navigationally I was just awful. I think I wasn't concentrating on my own race and too distracted by the runners around me and followed too much. This was shown by the fact I seemed to find every control that wasn't on my gaffle. Bad direction on 2 caused me to fall too far behind. Kept going making mistakes most of the way. The short legs in the woods were decent. After a particularly bad error at 10 I basically gave up running. A decent result was out the window and jogged/walked the rest. A poor excuse but whatever. In terms of running I think could have done similar to Matt. Anyway just under an hour behind Hector. Ok.

Orienteering race 13:38 [4] 2.7 km (5:03 / km)

YHOA Sprint champs around RAF Linton. Sound run, dodgy route choice on 17 which lost about 15 seconds I think. Finished 6th behind the British squad boys and Oli W by about 30 seconds for the chasing start. 15s ahead of Joe.

Orienteering race 13:04 [4] 2.3 km (5:41 / km)

Sprint champs chasing start final. Didn't see anyone basically. Ran the butterfly loops with people who were well behind. Basically a clean run. About 30 seconds ahead of Joe and behind Oli again. At least we are consistent. Apparently 3rd YHOA runner behind Kris and Jonny as they're in SHUOC.. but not Oli?

Warm up 15 minutes 3km.
Warm down 5 minutes 1km.

Running tempo 11:10 [5] 3.2 km (3:29 / km)

2 mile tempo out to the 2nd zebra crossing in Brockholes and back. Just keeping up with Tim which was good. 30 seconds improvement on 2 weeks ago..

Running intervals 15:00 [5] 2.4 km (6:15 / km)

3 x 500m [300m]. I got left behind in this. I was just hopeless.

Orienteering 53:31 [3] 8.5 km (6:18 / km)

Sherwood Pines. It was ok. Poor pre race preparation caused me to loose a fair amount of time. Football manager distracted me and thus didn't have time for the loo. You can work out the rest. Just about held on to a 3 minute lead from Ali T after the technical start. By 4 seconds. Clearly not fast enough on tracks etc..

SYO urban night series thingy in Sheffield somewhere. Okay run, few mistakes maybe 2 minutes worth. Still no where near AP. Good fun all the same.

We got bollocked for not being fast enough. I disagree.

Hills on Honely Moor. 400m [200m], 200m [200m], 400m [200m]. Three times. Felt ill towards the end. Think I've been eating too much rubbish.

Run back with George and Eddie. Stopped off to play with some frisbees.

Orienteering race 1:04:36 [4] 7.5 km (8:37 / km)

LOC level C event on Claife Heights South. Generally quite enjoyable. I got very confused on 2 where I probably ran just off the map and couldn't work out what was going on. Stood still for ever until I realised and sorted it out. Don't like how close the control was to the edge i have to say. Then just seemed to get stuck in the rubbish everywhere. Anyway Dad and Claire Ward both beat me by about 4 mins. Meh

Orienteering 1:00:00 [3]

YHOA training on Black Beck. Pick course first. Relocation course second. The got two legs into NL's long legs on a 1:15 map when I bashed the outside of my left foot quite badly on something. Tried to carry on but it hurt every time I stood on something hard. So sat out until the relay which I ran just with the pain. Anyway made it round. Good fun I have to say.

Usual 2 mile warm up.
Short warm down from station road to the club building (I don't want to call it a hut) and back to pick Dad up from the Martland's house.

Running tempo 11:38 [5] 3.2 km (3:38 / km)

2 mile tempo. Don't know whether the distance is accurate or not. Don't think 11;38 is a great time should it be exactly 2 miles.. pleased to see a huge turnout tonight. 2. At least it's better than being on my own like last week.

Running intervals 15:00 [5] 2.1 km (7:09 / km)

3 x 500m [200m]. Station Road/Gyn Lane loop as per.

Having sat in the bus station for an hour I eventually got on a bus I didn't really want. I decided to run back from Holmfirth. Bag, tennis racket, coat and all.

3km, 15 mins to and from Osprey Close.

Running intervals 20:00 [5] 4.0 km (5:00 / km)

5 x 800m (1 min). Rough times: 2; 45, 38, 32, 33, 38. Bit slow on the first one as stomach felt awful with lack of food. Last effort it decided to hail. Windy throughout.

Orienteering race 1:05:20 [4] 8.4 km (7:47 / km)

SYO level B event at Cawthorne. Short brown. Out late last night and never really got my heart into it. Helped at the start for an hour and very rushed start. Brambles were awful. Saw dad behind me at the second road crossing which pushed me on a bit but he was still 5 mins quicker.
