Football 40:00 [2]

Amazing PE lesson :O five a side outside but it was tipping it down. Scored one and missed an open net :/ got back in an put people in the showers in uniform :) class

Orienteering (holme fell) 30:00 [3] 2.4 km (12:30 / km)

ran the longer legs course with joe. talked through with him what we were doing and how we were going to find the control on alternative legs. really good helped alot seeing what he does etc... found all mine well :) borrowed his thumb compass and decided that i do prefer my baseplate after the litle experiment by us both taking a bearing and him finding it (with the baseplate) and me going 50m wrong (with the thumb) :/

ran the simplification course on my own. really good for me still using the thumb compass. found all of them well with a few small mistakes but they were just being a couple of metres too the wrong side of the control.

collecting controls at the end. last little run in the terrain. collected 4 of them

really good weekend overall. learnt alot that i hope will help in the future :) cant wait for next year :D

Orienteering (Great Tower) 20:00 [3] 1.7 km (11:46 / km)

Contours 1 course. used the map with all the features to sort of get me into it. Went well few small mistakes but resonably good :)

Contours 2 course. Used the all contours map. Again went well all good practice :)

Orienteering (Great Tower) 20:00 [3] 1.4 km (14:17 / km)

Long and short legs. Cut the course short so went to 5 straight from the start. practicing transitions between longer spells of concentration to quick short spells. Had a problem not using my compass as well as i should have done and came out of a couple of controls in the wrong direction :/

Traffic lighting. practicing slowing down coming into controls and going quicker at the start. was followed by josh beech for the first 5 before he left me. navigated well on those with a few small hesitations. josh said that i need to practice running in terrain more. (note to self, terrain runs) really screwed up 11 though. stopped way too short and got very confused before following cari into it :S was heaving it down so we only did 1 course and noone really wanted to do another. shame really :/

Orienteering (night sprint) 13:35 [3] 1.5 km (9:03 / km)

really good night sprint relay around the youth hostel. i was on 3rd leg with joe on 1st and jake 2nd. jake came back bout 4/5th ish after a stormer, getting fastest time! chose wrong shoes as i had trainers and was slipping everywhere. so many controls tho (35!) and couldnt get any flow as checking all codes as there were so many controls! had a decent run, didnt mispunch like over half of everyone there! 9th quickest so fairly happy :) team was 2nd i think behind wales

School PE lesson. Did sit ups, mini hurdles, shuttle runs, super plank and steP upz. Worked well :)

School Match at newsome. Got battered 41-87. No one played well. Nuff said.

Orienteering race 49:30 [4] 6.2 km (7:59 / km)

Race near Burnley. Forgotten what the area was called, claughbridge? Anyway swapped from blue to short brown as blue was only 4.8 and Alex mccan was on short brown. Amazingly clean race. Took it steady and had no mistakes at all just a few hesitations. Finished 3rd, 3 mins down on Alex and 6 mins Down on winner Carl.

Long run but in reverse ( for a new view :)) so long way round digley res, through the fields, through Holme and round yateholme res :) took it steady

Run round digley resevoir. Ran fairly quick to get a sort of base time for what I can do atm :)

Orienteering race 33:42 [4] 5.0 km (6:44 / km)

Ybt qualifier at ashdale woods. 3rd on the green, 20 secs down on zac who was 2nd and a minute down on Aidan who won. Happy with my run (although I didn't manage to beat them, sorry Meg). Caught Florence up at 4. Left her at 9 but I made a mistake at 10 losing 1.30 and she caught me back up although she didnt find 10 either so I ran away again and didn't see her for the rest. Wooders didn't have a great run tho, finishing 4th. Could have beaten Aidan without that mistake but ah well. He's in syo so it doesn't matter as much. Syo won getting 893 out of a possible 899 :D

Weights circuits. Did it for PE gcse fitness. Couldn't be bothered trying as I know I'm not good at it and I'm not going to do it for the fitness bit at the end when it counts anyway

Orienteering race 52:55 [4] **** 7.4 km (7:09 / km)

Blue course. Oh dear. Just looked at splitsbrowser and I was 2nd up to 7 behind Joe by bout 30 secs. Happy with that considering I was on my own :P then 8 was awful!!! Lost 6-7 mins. Went to far round the big open area and ended up on a path that I wasn't sure which one it was. Ran around for abit trying to find the open bit. Asked this man where I was and he told me the wrong place so I asked another person who told me the right place and I void it. Think I needed to take a bearing. Lost 1 min on 10 too as it wa on a pond but wasn't as the pond had no water in it :/ just ran past it as I was looking for the water. After this fairly slow and lost more time with a few scrappy mistakes. Annoyed about 8 but just goes to show that i can do it. 10th m16, 10 mins down on joe who had a nice train of four of them going round. Need a good run at the last selection race now :/
