Orienteering 45:38 [3] 5.4 km (8:27 / km)

Much better than that little event down south. Dvo event near big moor :) ran blue as still got my cold. Wet all alright with one small mistake one 11 where I was a little high and didn't take the best route to get to it. It was an awful leg anyway, 10 mins up a hill through brambles. Ended up 2nd 5 mind behind..... Dad :( but 8 up on mugratroyd the battle droid in 3rd :L

Running 1:00:00 [3]

Run with dad. Drive to Holme moss then we ran out along the skyline. Got to this trig point then turned round. Then I started feeling awful coming back into the wind. Couldn't breath properly through my cold and I started walking. Dad kept stopping for me too. Felt like ages to get back by which time I was cold wet an muddy through the bogs. Eugh.

Note

Did I mention? Got selected for interland :D

Orienteering 49:52 [4] 3.6 km (13:51 / km)

Hugset night o. Messed up like every control butt I almost expected that. Some were worse than otera so I suppose that the little messes up were good in context :L took a lot of safe routes too by going on paths but still got lost when trying to work out where to go in :L good training anyway :)

Orienteering 35:08 [4] 3.6 km (9:46 / km)

CDC qualifier at gilling wood. had to run light green for the club. Was going very well up till 8. Then took 10 mins to 9. Basically took a silly route a long way round a path dropping loads of height that I had to get back when u could have followed a fence and contoured or gone on another path the was losing no height as well. Anyway got to the right place then ran flat downs bit of white wood along the valley when I should have gone straight up the hill in another white bit. Found myself miles down the fence in the wrong place and had to run all the way back. Lost 6.30. Was winning at 8 by 30 secs to mini bradders as well :( Finished 3rd still behind minivradders and Timothy hunter? Neve heard of him. Should have been under 30 minute behind Simon :/

Syo got through still :D without any of our elites either (or Dane ;))

Orienteering 22:19 [4]

Glossop chasing sprint, first race. Wasnt particulary hard. there were a few interesting route choices like no.1 but most were 50/50. lost maybe 30 secs over the whole race through hesitations etc.. finished 4th out of im not sure how many...

Orienteering 23:30 [4] 3.54 km (6:38 / km)

Glossop chasing sprint, 2nd and chasing start race. One of the least exciting chasing sprints ever. several controls were the same but ah well (one leg was the same to the first race). nice little butterfly loop in the middle. didnt see anyone pretty much, noone over took me and i didnt over take anyone else. top 5 stayed in the same order as the first race :L finished 4th overall. distance is straight line so obviously ran further than that

Orienteering 40:00 [3] 3.0 km (13:20 / km)

Technical training. My dad planned a course and me and my sister ran after him while he hung bits of bog roll. Most of the area has been ruined/felled meaning an incredible amount of brambles and very tough going. Meant I went quicker to try and finish sooner tho :L

Running 45:00 [3] 5.0 mi (9:00 / mi)

In the lakes at the grandparents. Ran down the riverbank from their house to sedwick. Then up and along the old canal. Let my dad tag along. Bad decision, his pace was far too slow but ah well ;)

Orienteering 44:10 [4] 4.4 km (10:02 / km)

Middle distance at Norwood. Ran brown as proper age class. Going fairly well to 6 maybe felt a bit slow through all the heather (was actually winning at 6 by 30secs to dad). 7 lost 2.30. Basically got in the right area of forest/heather and couldn't find the depression it was in. Didnt think to run back out to the path either :/ some other people came and I basically followed them into it :/ only like 10 meters away. Then managed to cock up 8, lost 3.30, as well. It was in a boulder field and what I should have done was look at the HUGE boulder near it and think it should be there. Instead I just ran down into the area and got confused. Was trying to make up time from the last. Anyway at this point dad caught me up must have been 6 mins. And I followed him into the control. Followed him for a few to get back iinto it. When he took a slightly safer option and beared off I went straight and took him. I was then Gradually getting away from him there on. He still beat me by 6-7 mins :/
