shoes: Columbia

Walk home.

Biking 1:30:00 [2]

Decided to go cycling for a change of pace. A good chance to rest after yesterday's hard running workout. Did the Bayshore trail with the cycling club.
I think this is the approximate route. http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=2163524

Running 56:00 [3] 6.9 mi (8:07 / mi)

Out and back on the fire road, to the top of the extender.
It was good to do a flattish run, since one of the muscles in my left leg is sore when I climb steep hills.

I felt really fast today, and I was running fast too. When I checked my pace toward the end, it was at 6:26/mile. I think that the last few months of training are really paying off.

Running 1:10:00 [3] 8.0 mi (8:45 / mi)
shoes: Grid Cohesions

Got home from work and did a loop in Tilden park. Out around Lake Anza, down the Gorge Trail, and back on Selby. Some very nice trails. Met Sarah along the way, who was marking trails for a group run.

I felt pretty sluggish and a little off kilter during the middle of the run, and the terrain seemed to reflect that. The vegetation was all chewed up by a recent Goat herd, and the most prominent wildlife I were ferrel cats and crows.

Toward the end of the run I started feeling faster, and my mood cleared up. Soon after, I saw a beautiful large golden bird. Not sure what type.

Went for a long run in Antony Chabot. It was a perfect day for a run, and great scenery, although the trails are a bit too 'road like' for my tast. It was only my second time in that park.

For the first 8 miles or so, I wound up following a 50km race route in reverse. I didn't see any runners until I passed the finish line about 6 miles in, where I stopped for a short break. Here is the website for the race. http://www.skyline50k.us/

I was feeling awfully hungry when I passed all the BBQers at the Lake Chabot marina. Walnuts and bananas just aren't the same as hot dogs and burgers.
