U-turn at Staples so back tracked (closed for car hill climb)-Newlands-Coombe-Crocknorth-Boxhill-Newdigate-Capel-HMS-Newlands
Pushed on the hills. Due to added loop, was racing the setting sun (rear light flat). Both legs cramped up for 20 mins afterwards standing normally.

Snowdon via Rydr-Ddu path.
Left late with whole family, at halfway it was just C, me & the dog, entered cloud soon after. Heard the train had been stopped and the cafe closed due to the wind. Visibility 25m, which saved me from vertigo on the 1k knife edge. Clung to the pillar in 45 mph, wet wind, reversing back on all fours. Much safer elsewhere otherwise we'd have turned back. Last up on our route (quietest). Both battered and lightheaded on the ridge descent. We wore just enough and cycling jacket remained unused, though their were few places I could have put it on, on the exposed ridge.
Great day and all the more "enjoyable" for the conditions that stayed on the right side of safe and bearable.

Betws-y-Coed on road up to Marin Trail-Pont Cyfyng-over the top on footpath-Dolwydellan-6k trail to south-Sarn Helen to Elsi plateau in fruitless search of reservoir.
Best fun I've had on a MTB (Diamondback Heist 1.0) and amazed to find they retailed for £700, until they stopped this year- not making money apparently. 2.4 inch tyres & single chainring. C still managed their 3rd ever chain break and went over his handlebars, at the start of the infamous Marin Trail- we wisely turned back!

Moel Siabod - perfect cloudless day! Took shortest direct route from A470. Brutally steep on tussocky grass, yet safe. Climbing legs like jelly, sometimes zigzagging. Could literally see N Wales. Didn't see anyone until the top, on a Bank Holiday, whilst Snowdon was heaving.
