Orienteering 39:09 [3] 3.6 mi (10:52 / mi) +80m 10:10 / mi
Hamptworth SARUM - Short Green - Running quite well, but navigation plumbed the depths!
1 & 2 fluent straight, if only the whole course had been like this!
3 Having realised I checked no codes at the first two, I checked the code but not the description - 30s
4 Discovered small paths didn't exist on the ground, could have been worse -70s
9 Ended up 200m diagonally beyond control!!! Came out of 8, 30m further along track than I thought, then set off E rather than N, and went into wrong block. Lost 3.15.
10 Looked at wrong code/desc, so aimed for clearing inside circle, to find control on stream, which wasn't mine either -60s
14 Last control had 3 path junctions in the circle, but not specified on description. -10s
Area full of summer bracken and paths & narrow rides that were overgrown & plotted from aerial photos. Still enjoyed it and the ponies.
