Out to Tilford and back after group ride. 3 degs, with frigging cold damp misty air first thing. Legs and upper body, not great at the end, been worse. 100k completed before noon (brownie points possibly!)

Mini Mod Ride without cafe - Tilford-Lasham-Upton Grey & back in figure of 8.
With two Marks, one in the club's race team and remarkably chilled considering. Some lovely long gradual descents & level sections with a tail wind on the way back that perked me up, and made up for the hills on the way out. Did a section of chain gang, the other two were smooth, where as I accelerated going on the front- good experience though. Legs were rubbish on the hills, might be effect of intervals.

Pirbright triangle - 10 x 0.5 mile fast, 0.5 mile steady. Recoveries required concentration. Typical peak 157 & low 142 (should be higher done properly). Need to experiment further with pacing.

Did the whole session without stopping. Av HR for whole ride was 148.

Signed up for club Paris ride in May, 300 miles over 4 days. Excited but worried I might already be minus 1000 brownie points for having signed up!

To the Staples CP via Newlands. 2 degs & sunny, and paused for the views. Was overtaken on the bridleway by a fast mtb commuter, giving me an insight into the best lines. Feeling more confident and no longer gripping the bars with a vice like grip, and going faster led to more momentum and stability.
