Charterhouse-Elstead-Kingsley-Lasham-U Grey-S Wanbgh(cafe closed!)-Bentley-Blacknest(pub)-Bourne(3 times!)-Tilford-back same way
Meant to be 3hrs, before starting 3.5 days of solid DIY, somehow I overdid it. Felt short changed yesterday and had no plan. Plus the signposts and lack of a signpost to Tilford added 6.5 miles as I went along the same road 3 times!
Cafe at S Wanbgh was closed, rained lightly for all but first hour and had short sleeves. Put on gilet after stop. Pub had no ready food, so drank sugared drinks and crisps. Thought might have bonked but 0.6mph slower after break more to do with legs and slightly lower HR.
Longest ride since school.

Cycling warm up/down 28:00 [2] 8.0 mi (3:30 / mi) +100m 3:22 / mi
shoes: Giant A1

Was meant to be a 10 mile TT Open race on H10/8 course. The wind was 2 mph,so ideal for a SB. Unfortunately a rider was hit by a car, on the way to the start, only 100m before the finish line, where the DC narrows to one lane, leaving the organisers to slow the traffic and finishing riders onto the chevrons. 20 mins later, after the ambulances and police arrived, the starts were stopped, with the last third of the starters unable to start. Sickening feeling and glad the organisers did the right thing safety wise. One rider couldn't understand the decision, despite knowing most of the facts- cycling in particular takes all sorts! I did my best to explain the organisers had little choice, as the risk of a further accident was unreasonably high.

Note

73.5kg, loss of 0.1. Cycling regularly gives you a choice, eat what you want and not gain weight, or ease off the sweet stuff and shed some weight.

Foot of Whitedown via Newlands-Albury twice-walked hill back round tMartha's
Raised 3mm as planned then measured at 710, 10 more than standard setup on normal saddle, and then paid the price. Got out of saddle to accelerate past mtb, and over extended knee, not badly, but enough to stop session and drop saddle 3mm. Bars could do with being raised by 10, as total drop is 70, on limit for physiology according to competitive fit.
