Note
(rest day)

So far, so good, far less sore today than expected.
Plan over next 12 weeks is to increase ride lengths by around 20 mins a week. Riding a bit slower might be just what's needed to learn how to pace longer sportives over the summer.

Fab route, got the pace and distance right too, brill!

Note
(rest day)

Should have only done the planned 20/22 miles yesterday and kept the HR down. Lots of icing and some ultrasound.

Send-Ockham-RHS-Pyrford-Send-Old Woking-Burpham
Meant to be HR 135-140, but as usual couldn't hold back. Took some new roads which weren't ideal, too narrow/busy especially in the rush hour. A decent ride considering it was 50% longer than anything since November.

Cycling 5:00 [1] 1.0 mi (5:00 / mi)
shoes: Giant Defy 1

Warm down and mid-ride off road detour to Wisley Airfield!

Note
(rest day)

Usual 40 mins of walking.

Cycling 51:42 [3] 14.9 mi (3:28 / mi) +190m 3:20 / mi

Send - W Horsley - A247. Rode in new replacement shoes/cleats.
Started faster than planned (traffic), then legs blew grinding up to W Horsley and the last 5 miles HR climbed to THR. Had a heart stopping moment squeezing past a unicyclist weaving along the raised narrow A3 bike lane!
Finally feel I can start to train properly but cautiously, think the soreness will continue for several more weeks. 90 days to LondonRide 100, now seems very doable.
