Noticed sharp pain on uninjured side of abdomen when turning over in bed on Friday night, hoped it would go away, got worse over the weekend. Baffled and frustrating as so close to starting cross training, right side healed enough to painlessly swing leg over new bike on Saturday.

Collected tt bike and visited the Gravesend Cyclopark with it's 6m wide, 2.9k road circuit. Great facility. Must go there in the Spring and give it a whirl.

Good news, entry accepted for 20,000 starter first annual RideLondon-Surrey 100 on closed roads. Starting fastest first over 2 hours heading west through central London - awesome!

Agreed a good deal on a 3 year old tt bike. It nearly didn't happen, the door buzzer went as I was about to bid, I paused a couple of seconds as the intercom was answered, then bid, and 3 secs later the auction was pulled by the seller before my winning bid (only bid) was processed. Spooky timing!!!

Woke up this morning with early signs of conjunctivitis and had to cancel tomorrow's hydro session in case it's infective. Bizzare timing, not even had a cold for well over two years, which wouldn't prevent going to a session. On second thoughts perhaps not, as roughly every 4th year I pickup something minor around 5/6th February, just after work deadlines are over.

Cut short one session when the tero band snapped off an office radiator thermostat whilst doing the sideways Cockney Walk, oops!

Saw Stuart (physio), he thought it wasn't Gilmore's, more likely there was a muscle tear around hernia mesh. The exercises I'm doing are fine and just added some more. Booked in for a hydro session. Athletics current best practice is to progressively build up exercise to a high level over 3 months and its either boom or bust. Pleased to hear my hip flexors flexibility is good, something I've worked on over 2012 for a more aero bike position.

Spoke too soon! Aggravated injury yesterday, so minimal rehab.

Physio is off sick, so seeing Stuart instead who does ultrasound imaging, probably too deep, but worth a second opionion.
