BAOC - The Slab Bordon Short Green 18 controls - Ran, not v fast, close to threshold.
11 - 2.15, took track obscured under number, should have taken back bearing off knoll in the open to be certain where I was, and doubled the lost time. 12 - 20s. Otherwise clean, 6x(5-10s) of hesitation or not seeing control. So 3.30 lost in all. Big help having a compass. Pleased with run, which made the one error more annoying.

Send-Ripley longer loop. Time adjusted for "slow" cars. Cycling yes! Been 6 mths. Or 9 mths since I was cycling fit. Slow at first. Calf fine on the ride and hopefully it will continue that way.

Wednesday was first run in 18 months. Literally every muscle group, tendon & ligament was sore and aching yesterday. All appears fine! Calf improving rapidly. Hamstrings definitely shortened by cycling and overpowered by quads. Hope to run BAOC events weekly, and at some stage restart cycling at weekends, so muscle groups become more balanced over time.

BAOC Bordon Hogmoor Enclosure - 1:5,000 20 controls. Excellent technical course, made harder w/o a compass and that 40% of map was marked rough open, whether it was heather or had unmarked vehicle tracks. Lost 6.5 mins and maybe 2 mins more w/o fluency of compass. Would make excellent middle or relay area of 0.5 sq k. Need to dig compass out!

Shuffled and ran 90% of course. Calf muscle fine, just the nerve afterwards.

Encouraging - very little disruption to calf after Wednesday. Everything consistent with nerve entrapment on Wed and 2 days after.

Orienteering 46:55 [1] 4.0 km (11:44 / km) +70m 10:47 / km

BAOC - S Bagshot - 2 x 2k loops. Without a compass the sun was helpfully due south. Lost 3.5 mins leaving 2, 20 degs out, tracks everywhere not great relocation terrain. 26 first loop, 21 for second which was more rough & technical- just might have sped up (more shuffling). Even more enjoyable when you make mistakes and get back into the swing of it after.

Mytchett SE of the railway - hilly course with controls only on gullies. Lovely area even when the bracken is up (walking).
