Devised my own calf exercise that is very similar to the calf movement at the bottom of the pedal and similar to action that causes most calf injuries when running. Feels very differnt to the other exercises I've done in the past both during and afterwards.
10 mins US daily since Saturday and can finally feel/see the usual continous micro muscular twitching. Plan is to continue for another 2-3 weeks as clearly some healing is going on.
