Orienteering 45:31 [4] 4.5 km (10:07 / km) +125m 8:53 / km

Glovers Wood OK Nuts Trophy - short blue. Well planned middle style course, with a lot of the early course in slow run (rough ground in unmanaged woodland). Felt ill with tiredness, but finished 7 mins quicker than expected, which explains why! Had negative thoughts throughout, navigation hesitant yet effective, especially over first 9 tricky controls. 2 went to control 20m away, 5 saw small path leading towards control and ignored, it looked like animal track, doubled back later then circled round in circle until I saw it, 6 should have taken bearing instead of relocating, 12 just missed, stopped and saw runners near flag, 15 bounced off main depression. Lost around 2.30 in all. Pleased I had my navigation head on today, a couple more bearings might have saved 30s. Lacked flow at times, but caution was a time saver today.

Weight 79.9 kgs, would like to lose 0.5kg a month.

Swimming 18:00 [3] 0.55 km (32:44 / km)

SSP (50) - 100wu, 6 x 50 30s rest, 100, 50wd.

Calf recovery time from running is continuing to speed up. Looking forward to being able to adopt a 7 day cycle of a race once a week, plus a short run mid-week. 10 day cycle currently works.

Running 18:00 [2] 2.5 km (7:12 / km)

Round Parkrun course late evening after a curry. Jog/walk, around 70% time run, 30% walk time wise. A lot skin missing from heel from last week.

Orienteering 58:17 [3] 4.8 km (12:09 / km) +70m 11:19 / km

Woolmer Ranges BAOC - Hot brackenfest, a thankless task for the planner, 2 - 45s rc, 3 - poor MR 2.15, 4 doubled back after going straight -40s, 10 started going straight changed mind 45s, 11- expected to see control off track and followed sqaddies to wrong last control and then a girl in the army took pity on me and held a fence that was wobbling under my unsteady legs - 3 mins. Struggled to walk straight for 10 mins afterwards. Lack of fitness seems to be most obvious in lack of muscle strength, so today was perfect.

Pilates/yoga 15:00 [1]

Swimming 15:00 [2] 0.5 km (30:00 / km)

Did some pilates in the morning to make sure I was injury free for swimming.

Calf coming along well and hoping to run again this Wednesday.

Orienteering 47:58 [3] 4.8 km (10:00 / km)

Twesledown BAOC - Found out afterwards the new owners have massively changed the area removing the race course and adding dozens of jumps. Lost 4 mins by the time I realised (5 mins in all), 3 mins on #1.Tired on the second loop. Hot and no shade. Ran most of it flat footed (not shuffling), walked only when tired/hot/up hills or rough to prevent injury, hence level 3 effort. Nerve pain after, but much better 4 hours later.

Running 10:00 [1]

Shuttle shuffles at The Chantries 9 x 75m.
