Have let calf settle down after dry needling, not felt this good for a few months.

Reluctantly saw physio. Dorsiflexion on right 9mm - back to normal!!!
Physio said calf would not be very saleable at a butchers! Had dry needling and seems to have hit the right spots. 4 weeks now of gradually building up to 20 reps of 70% loading on each leg, but consolidating gains over 2-3 days before increasing again. Not to lower heel, instead only change one area at a time - makes sense.

Very good session. 1 to 1 as no student was there and got time to discuss a lot. Don't want to get my hopes up too much, but things are starting to look up, no need to sell the bikes quite yet!

Too late to cancel physio. Dorsiflexion still only 7mm on left and right - disappointing no progress (but tired after a long day on feet).

Cancelled today's physio visit. Realised most of problem is caused by inflexible/shortened achilles. Probably better off accepting semi-permanent heel insert rather than forever trying to drop heel back down, will get physios opinion in a couple of weeks.

Long dog walk, planned to avoid the 30% climb up the S side of St Martha's but still ended up there. Took 400mg ibu afterwards rather than icing that I reckon just encourages tight fibres to contract even more!
