Meet 15, course 24 - Gold Rush Ultralong Championships

I like ultralongs. This was a good race for me considering lost time as a percentage of the run. I felt like I was flagging at the 60-80% mark. I really need to find a way to pull up some competitive drive at times like this but it was absent here. Most of the lost time was from a couple of weaker route choices, especially in the steeper legs like 9, 10. There was room to artfully cut climb and in other places cut distance without gaining much climb and I chose poorly. Happy and surprised that it was good enough for 2nd in M45

Meet 15, course 23 - Gold Rush Sprint

It was hard getting out of the car on a really hot, sunny day and focusing, so this was the most pathetic sprint run that I have put in in a while. I completely lost it on control 3. I tried to get moving again was able to enjoy parts of the course. The cheering at the finish encouraged me in from the go.

A solid Father's Day run with A. He wrote out directions for the previous wiggly run, stuffed it in a clue sheet holder and we were off. We made one mistake of about 0.3 miles doubled by backtracking but otherwise completed the task. It was nice to close my eyes and just follow him for the last two miles. Well over 80 and humid so I was really glad we took water.
