Meet 3, course 5

The Large Orange Hedge enjoyed the day once we were moving and warm. There was a cold wind that was a bit distracting and once Aragorn went into the water with his gloves on, he was really cold. I went for a wade later but flanges are harder to heat than legs. The single map per team rule was really not good for us. There were several unforced errors that would not have happened if both of us were navigating, even a tiny bit. Drifted on the corridor-O and had to reset it from the middle. Cranked around the water carrying exercise saving no water but with one of the fastest times. Then squandered it by going to the ghost control before C6 then having to return to C6 from C7 (8 min). The largest problem was with C14 that was set lower on the hillside than the clue stated shallow hilltop. Didn't find it; questioned our location and moved one ridge over only to return to find the bag on the original hill. We weren't the only group that had difficulties with this. A nice morning jaunt; I think we ended up 4th behind 3 USMA teams.
