A great day at the GRR, getting to run instead of organize this year. A huge thanks Griz!!!
Fun course and fun first time racing with both Mick and MrBradleyCooper (dare I suggest "Face" as an AP name for Tyson). Mick is looking strong these days and was solid out there. A couple of times he was like a little puppy slowing up the trail constantly looking back excitedly awaiting the okay to bolt. I found myself saying "unleash the Lucente" and BOOM he's gone like a fiend on a direct line to the control flag. Bang up performance Mr Mick!
Enroute to #1 it became clear that we were not going to be running with either Nick or GetawayStix today. But to Face's credit he held on tight to the tow and never complained once ...digging hard to help us hold on to a podium spot. We did have the opportunity to lead the race atleast once today at CP#1, but unlike a certain other team that shall remain nameless (they hold the fastest split to CP#1 and have a funny long name) ...I waited until all three team members had actually touched the flag before punching the SI ;)
Happy with the last minute footwear decision; spikes would have slowed you in the dry fast conditions today. Congrats to both Foreigners and ETB/WT for great performances, sorry we couldn't join you to make it a three way horse race.
(NOTE: the garmin track is missing first 2 controls from Beta stage as I forgot to turn it back on immediately following the 40min brake ...have added 15min and 2.2km to the running time above to compensate; info disseminated based on Mick's garmin data).
