Orienteering race (Local - Extreme) 1:35:00 [4] *** 8.7 km (10:55 / km)

Today I ran the EXTREME course and extreme it was. There was a huge amount of climb to one control on particular. The course was a combination of both bush and street orienteeing which was in total almost 9pm according to Dad's Garmin. I felt reasonably good during this run but would have liked to be a bit faster.

Orienteering (Map Changes) 1:09:08 [4] **** 4.5 km (15:22 / km)

Skipped on the gym this morning as I didn't want to push myself to earlier after being sick. The aim of today's session was to pracitse the type of map change we will be having in Canberra next weekend, namely going from 1:10 000 scale to a 1:4 000 scale. Navigationally I did alright, although a few imporvements could be made, but the scale change didn't phase me to much except for the first control. Ran on a part of the Waterworks map I haven't run on before which was good.

What I learnt today:
After changing the maps just slow down and settle into the new scale for the first control and that I need to put into practise all off the other techniques I have been doing for the last few weeks.

Orienteering race (Short Course) 18:00 [3] ** 2.0 km (9:00 / km)

Shadowed a Girl around the short course for her first time. I just showed her the basics but still ran at a reasonable pace.
5 PM

Orienteering (Long Course) 51:22 [4] *** 5.66 km (9:05 / km)

Ran with Dad's Garmin again today. I was a bit disappointed with how I went on the course, especially control 6 where I spent 10minutes. I really want to run these course well, but today this didn't really happen.

Gym Session (Power Cardio) 1:00:00 [3]

Power Cardio is just like a Power class (weighted bar class, utilizing progressive load) except that two cardio tracks are incorporated.

Run long 48:46 [4] 7.53 km (6:29 / km)

After finishing the session at the Gym, I decided to run home. Overall i felt really good and strong throughout the duration of the run. Using Dad's Garmin was usefull as it allowed me to have an understanding of my k-rate as I ran and made me push myself.
