Orienteering (red flyingpig) 1:22:54 [3] 7.7 km (10:46 / km) +410m 8:30 / km
shoes: Falcons 2018

Climb was still too high but more reasonable today.

I fell 50 meters out of the start. I stepped off the pavement while running at speed and sunk a foot into some soft mud and fell hard. My right hand landed on some treeroots. At the time I pondered if I broke my hand. (turned out to just be badly bruised).
I liked this course better than previous day but still a bit of an eye test in places.

start -1: fell. made a slower start. Lost some time on the final approach.
1-2: There were gaps in the cliffs but I cant see them on the map. I would have gone straight but instead contoured around more to be at the end of the cliff.
2-3: I climbed the cliff initially only to realize the field was out of bounds. Very bad course setting to have controls this close to the two controls. Climbed back down and followed the shelf. There was already getting to be an elephant track to the control.
3-4: straight
4-5: straight. Trouble finding a depression in the green.
7: control circle obscured crucial small re-entrants on the approach.
7-8: rough open scattered trees also had a lot of thorns in it which made it much slower than running in the woods.
11: can't tell what the control is supposed to be. Just went up the hill. Will Hawkins punched right with me. Greg A also there. They both went running off. Showed me just how slow I move now.
11-12: Went back to thre bridge becuase I don't like to get my feet wet. Would have been quicker to cross the stream.
13: no way I can see the details around this. Just followed the track up the hill and saw the control.
13-14: I got a little low. Saw the water jugs before seeing the control or depression.
15-16: quicker to go straight but I was tired so I just walked up to the yellow area and then ran to the control.
