Orienteering (North American Sprint) 19:19 [5] 2.5 km (7:44 / km)

Sprint at Dartmouth College.
I started off poorly, then made some minor mistakes. My calf finally gave out about 2/3rds of the way through the race. I couldn't sprint anymore so had to adjust my stride to a fast hobble.
I made a fairly sizable error in the last few controls. I cross the road, ran along the building, then turned right. The problem was I cross the wrong road. I lost close to 2 minutes on that control. That plus my calf was enough to put me way back.

Orienteering (North American Long) 1:33:59 [3] 6.0 km (15:40 / km)
shoes: O' Icebuds 2014

I knew this was going to be tough terrain. I started off ok but it went down hill from there. Unfortunately the map turned into an eye test. There was too much stuff for my eyes to see.
My plan going to the second control was to hit the trail and turn right. Unfortunately, there as a trail through the rocks I didn't see. I ran down it trying to relocate and things were matching up. Finally, I said I had go to far so cut up a line of cliffs. It was the wrong line of cliffs. I came a marsh and couldn't find it on the map (because it was mostly off the map). Too cut to the chase, I ran off the map, got on another trail and couldn't find it either. Then I wandered for long time still trying to find where I was. Finally I just ran up hill. Eventually I located where I was and ran to the control. at least 25 minutes lost. I then joined up with Tapio and ran most of the course with him hot on my heals. I wasn't clean to the rest but was better. I was playing it safer.

Orienteering (North American Middle) 33:14 [4] 3.9 km (8:31 / km)
shoes: O icebugs 2015

This was the race I was focusing on. My calf was still a little sore but not enough that it bothered me. It was humid/rainy enough that my glasses fogged up. That did bother me as It was hard to read the map. Overall I was happy with my performance. I didn't feel exactly fast but fairly clean.
