Doing the yellow course at the beginner training. Basically went for a trail run. It was good warm up for reading 1:5000 map for afternoon sprints.

First using new Gallaudet college campus map. I started off running hard but got tired fast. It started raining a few controls in. I fell once on the grassy slick hillside.
I was moving well until control 12. Not only was there no streamer, there was no feature. It was supposed to be a lone tree but there was no tree there. I wandered aound just to make sure the streamer wasn't hung on something else. Finally, I just went on. I lost my momentum and slowed way down at that point.
As usual I had trouble with the parking garages and how they were mapped. Couldn't tell when to go around or through. I went through them all. One I tooked the unmapped steps.
Lots of fun as usual. I like college campus springs.

Did the long course second. The course was 3.3 K. The short course was 3.2 K. However, because of the building the long course was shorter by a .3 miles.
I was stiff and sore when I started. My calves were hurting and got tighter as I ran. Even though I slowed down they still hurt. I finally had to walk. I walked the last 1/3 of the course.
