Orienteering (summer series) 37:35 [3] 2.85 mi (13:11 / mi)
shoes: O icebugs 2015

Contour exercise. I spent as much time looking for streamers as i did orienteering. I did the loop again so I could compare times.

Orienteering (summer series) 30:32 [3] 2.68 mi (11:24 / mi)
shoes: O icebugs 2015

2nd loop. Took the longer trail routes most of the time but saved time in not looking for streamers.

Orienteering (red: remarkable flats) 57:36 [5] 8.3 km (6:56 / km) +200m 6:12 / km
shoes: O icebugs 2015

Wide open running course. So runnable that I ran out of steam and got stupid. I think it was oxygen debt. Overall, I made lots of tiny mistakes which just kept costing my time.

#1: I started off fine. By the pond, across the fence. Final approach I went right around the hill. I think left may have been faster.

#2: I got through the green in a thicker spot than I should have. On my final approach I saw Amber ahead of me. By the time I got there I went to the wrong rock and lost 30 seconds.

#3: I overshot the cliff by about 30 meters and had to come back to it.

#4: I was right of the line. I approached the control from the west and it was greener on that side then the direct approach.

#5: I refolded my map and lost track where I was. I started in the direction of 5-6 instead of going to 5. I went off 90 degrees the wrong way. I crossed the marsh area when I looked at my map again and realized things weren't right.

#7: I was plenty tired at this point. Leaving #6 I didn't lift my foot high enough and kicked a rock (that didn't move) and fell hard. I had to walk a bit to recover. I was slow to the control.

#8: Straight

#9: Left of the first marsh then straight.

#10: Straight, then between large aspen groves.

#11: Drifted a little left but not an issue. So very, very tired.

#12: Tried to keep running but just couldn't

#13: brain dead. I wasn't reading the map just trying to key off the finish chute but I was looking in the wrong spot. I thought it was the control by the road and just ran above our control. Eventually, I looked at the map and circled back. Embarrassing to screw up the go control.
