I started late as I was doing control pickup. It was still cold out but I dressed warmly knowing that the distance was more than I could handle so I may be walking by the end.
I started off ok but just felt tired. I made a minor mistake going to #8 but corrected fairly quickly. going to 9 I lost time as I wasn't sure if we were allowed to run around the gullys. It looked like it was in people's yard. After hesitating, I crossed the gully which took awhile.
Leaving control 9 I twisted my ankle badly. Looking at the map there were only two places to cross the highway and if I was going to quit I needed to decide. I decided to hobble to 10 and see how things felt. By 10 my ankle felt ok so I decided to keep going. By this point I was already starting to run out of steam so got slower.
I missed a trail going to 12 so lost lots of time.
Going to 20 I didn't want to cross the stream and got confused that the small stream was the large stream so I kept trying to run around. I finally had to wade across the small stream. 3 minutes lost.
