Not in great shape but decided to do the blue course anyway. It was snowing the while time. My glasses fogged up, and while running I had to keep blinking the snow flakes out of my eyes.
Once I got going I was comfortable in my clothing for most of the course. By the end my feet got wet/cold and and ankles stiff which makes it hard to run.
I lost time stopping to help people who were blowing whistle on the course. I asked if they were hurt. There were not orienteers and didn't know what I was talking about. They were lost though and blowing the whistle looking for the rest of their group. I tried to help steer them in the correct direction but the area they said they were looking for was across the river and yet they hadn't crossed the river to get there. I don't think they knew where they were going. They did call their other people who were able to set them straight. After leaving them, I then promptly screwed up. I saw a control, assume it was #17 when it was really #18. I then went up the wrong reentrant and floundered. I decided to bail out to the road going to the private area when I saw houses. I was no where near where I was supposed to be. Then went right to the control.
At control #17 I had to re-prop up the very heavy log the control was tied to. I was on top cliff but with the snow and people punching it fell off.
