Mass start event with windows. Blue does all the windows, shorter courses can skip entire windows. There are 5 windows. Idea is for everyone to finish at the same time.
It was nice out (50degrees) so I changed to a lighter shirt. Started off ok but realized I forgot to wear my glasses. I should have run to the car and gotten them but figured I could tough it out. I couldn't. I had difficulty seeing anything on the map and trouble reading the clue descriptions. I was with Jon Torrance at the first control with everyone else behind. Entering the first window I decided for a different order than I expect most would take. I think it would have worked accept without the glasses I couldn't see any map details including trail junctions. I blew the first control in the window, and the second one in the window (although that one was mis-mapped). After that I just turned it into a memory straight line exercise. Point and shoot and hope to see the control after the right distance. I usually didn't even know what feature to look for.
I continued to pass people throughout the whole course. I passed the last people on the way to the go control and supposedly finished 2nd to Jon Torrance.

It was cold out and I forgot my sweats. apparently everyone on my team was cold. We were playing the team that is equal to us in skill but played really bad. The entire team just played bad. The first game we got blown out. The second game we played better but still lost. The third game we played closer to the way we should have played and eked out a victory. At that point we were all ready warmed up to play again but the match was over.

New sessions started. We were supposed to play the same team we just played twice. we lost the last two meetings. The other team didn't show, so we scrimmaged one of the teams that had just played. It was a low intensity game. We pulled out a victory and I even scored a goal.

Started off but didn't feel great (stomach issues). I only got to 1.5 miles at before I had to stop and walk. I started walking faster than went back to running.

It was cold out. I figured I would just run easy. Map vegetation is largely greener than mapped. My back/neck got tired early bending over to avoid all the sapling branches. Later, there were some very thorny areas. I went off line going to #2 and screwed up number 3. Rest was ok.
