Start of a new season. we played one of the better teams. We gave up one goal early but then got out to a large lead. We were up 4-1 until they came back near the end and tied it up. I started off slow but then stepped it up. right near the end of the game one of my own team mates kicked me as I was trying to clear the ball. My leg is sore.

I got tired, I did ok except for running off the map at one control. I couldn;t find the streamer but just assumed Eddie had picked it up. I ran on but then when i saw the houses realized what must have happened. I ran back onto the map but didn't know exactly where I was so was slow to the next control.

We were playing the last place team. All we had to do was win or tie and we would stay in 3rd place. We were up 2-0 then the mistakes started. First we gave up a penalty kick which they scored. Then one of our lessor players did some bonehead mistakes and we gave up two goals right near the end of the game to loose 3-2.
So while we lost, they other team had an ineligible player so was ruled a fortfiet. We still finished 3rd over all. Now to the playoffs.

I wasn't the quickest at the drink this year. Several others out drank me. i was 3rd to the maps but the first to be running in the right direction. I led down the trail singing I am in first, I am i first. i cut off the trail early to avoid the marsh. No one followed me. When we joined back up I would still have been in first except where I went to cross the stream there was a down tree so I lost lots of time. Then the uphill started and I was slower. I also screwed up the next control. I had a better approach then the leaders but apparently missed the control and didn't correct well. At least Nadim was with me. I lost a lot of ground and had to pass people I didn't expect to be with. As I finished the 2nd loop the leader was right behind me. At least i didn't get lapped.
