Soccer (outdoor) 1:20:00 [3]
shoes: Soccer:outdoor 08

My back was still sore so I played defense instead of halfback. Priviledge of being the coach. I get to play where I want. Several key players were out. We played well but lost 3-0. Considering we had no subs I was happy with how we played.

Orienteering race 2:13:59 [3] 7.6 mi (17:38 / mi)
shoes: O shoes: Falcons 06

Still way to thick. I took the trails wherever possible. Just another slow day. I figure I had about 20 minutes of errors. I met my goal, I finished and didn't twist an ankle which is more than some can say.

Orienteering (middle COC champs) 1:03:47 [3] 3.7 mi (17:14 / mi)
shoes: Nike 2008

It was way to thick and bad footing for me. Couldn't see the terrain and green is hit/miss. i also had trouble with the marsh areas as many of them were open but not mapped that way and were not that wet.
Lost time on several controls but given the conditions wasn't that unhappy with my performance. Generally, just slow.

Orienteering (sprint) 26:23 [3] 2.7 mi (9:46 / mi)
shoes: O: Falcons 2008

Overall, not a good race. The woods were thick.
I am particulary unhappy about being DQ'ed for a control that shouldn't have even been allowed. I missed #8. The circle is hard to see amoung the buildings, it is a straight line between 7-9 and is a very congested area. I lost lots of time at 20 due to the map. There as rough open scattered trees that was just open/rough open. I thought I must have gone to far on the trail and was still way short as a result. I kept seeing a control in a clearing north of the trail but couldn't find a clearing north of the trail
I was also unhappy with the gimmicked fence corner inside the tennis courts. I had already lost time by staying away from the playground and running through the woods instead only to get to control and not be able to reach it. If they were going to hang in on the inside the least they could have done was to shift the circle slight to show it was inside.
Both these were very poor for a WRE.

Orienteering (sprint- COC) 14:00 [3] 2.2 km (6:22 / km)
shoes: O: Falcons 2008

Hopewell rocks in New Brunswick Canada. Strained my back before the race and didn't want to tire myself out for the next days WRE. Tried to keep running but didn't try to run hard. One minor mistake and a few hesitation but generally fairly clean.

Run (road) 31:58 [3] 4.4 mi (7:16 / mi)

Felt very lethargic. Legs just feel heavy.
