Orienteering race (Blue) 1:48:35 [3] 11.1 km (9:47 / km) +505m 7:58 / km
shoes: O shoes: Falcons 06

So tired and sore from day before. Seriously thought about 1) Not coming back today (but my club was hosting and Darcy was working), 2) Changing course down to string o' 3) Telling not to count on ranking day.
Ran ok. Made a few mistakes one big bonehead one. I teleported myself 400 meters on the map after knowing exactly where I was. In general just to tired to run properly.

Orienteering long 2:24:05 [3] *** 13.0 km (11:05 / km) +480m 9:21 / km

I have to be careful about what I say here as people may read this.
Overall, it can be summed up as "NOT FUN!". Physically just beat up.
Muscled cramping, bruised from all the green. In general I wasn't scraped as I ran around the briars instead of through them. The "White" woods were not very white so even then just crashing through stuff. My chest and arms were tender/bruised. I am lucky to still be able to see as I have several near miss eye popping pokes. As it was, I did take several branches in the eyes.
In general, it was a short person's course. Much of the course was spent bent over to duck under things. For every step forward you had to go at least one to the side. There was almost nowhere in the first two thirds of the course where you run. Late in the course there was some but by then I was already cramping. every step had the green grabbing the legs.
Major map errror near the go control. They left the clearing off the map which cause me to loose quite some time as the control was in the woods and not the clearing so I kept looking in the wrong spot.

Volleyball (Indoor) 1:00:00 [2]
shoes: VB: Newbalance 620

Another indoor game against a team we should beat but didn't. Our setter came late and wasn't ready and it showed. The hitters did a good job but the sets just weren't there. We lost 2 out of three.

Run (road) 31:08 [3] 4.4 mi (7:05 / mi)
slept:7.5 shoes: Brooks Adrenaline 2007

Last run before the U.S. Champs. Ran with a map today. Better than yesterday but still won't be ready for 1:15,000 by this weekend. Too much mapping at 1:5,000.
Tonight was good practice running with distractions. Ran about 6:00 pm and the early trick-or-treaters were already out. We had one come to our door at 5:50. I was still getting changed and had just gotten home from work. I saw several wizard like people, several gothic somethings, one basketball player. In general, costumes seemed to be more hodgepodge than anything else.
Ran easy again and the times show I was still moving at a good clip. Just hope I can keep it up for the whole race this weekend.

Run (road) 32:26 [3] *** 4.4 mi (7:22 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline 2007

Ran with a map tonight. First time in a long while that I have run with one. Boy it is hard to read a 1:15,000 scale map.
Today was just an easy run. I didn't want to aggevate my thigh.
