Treadmill (2 incline) 30:00 [3] 4.0 mi (7:30 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline 2007

Ice storm outside. The road to my house was closed. There was a police car and flares at the top of the shallow hill leading down to my neighborhood. So I drove the 2.5 miles around (the same route as the Summer Series Squirrel Bike O two years ago) and came in the back way only to discover they had the road closed from that way also. They closed the road before my turn so there was no way to get to my house. I parked the car and walked over to the police car to ask what my options were and the police car was empty. The lights were on, the driver window was open but no police man. Of course my first thought was a horror movie and the boogie man got him. I walked up the road a little ways to see if there was an accident or firetrucks or something saying why the road was closed. If it was just a slick road I would have driven on but if was a gas leak (or monster) then I would wait. There was nothing up the road so back I went and waited. After a few minutes a neighbor also drove up with the same problem. A few more minutes and the police man returned. He let us drive over the flares and down the road. I had no problems. I called Darcy and let her know the road was closed. She came in the back way and the police man said it was closed until the salt truck had come. Ironically, while I had been waiting, the salt truck had come, seen the flares and turned around.

Anyway, I ran on the tread mill.
