Running (Run around home) 36:36 [1] 6.0 km (6:06 / km)
slept:10.0 (sick) shoes: Brooks Glycerin (8)

Woke up feeling very nautious and was sick all Friday morning. The doctor suggested food poisoning. I didn't run or eat for the next two days. Not good at all.

On Sunday I went for a very easy 6km run with Hayley. I felt very weak and struggled. Far from being back to full health.

Running (Run into work) 37:46 [3] 8.0 km (4:43 / km)
slept:8.5 shoes: Brooks Glycerin (8)

I was surprised to find that my quads were sore today. This does not normally happen. I had a little calf tightness, however, this was lessoned by the effects of my compression socks. Other than that no real pains or niggles. The run itself was fairly slow. I really didnt push the pace. I have felt a lot better for it. I wonder what impact my longer but slightly slower running will have on my performance. Time will tell ....

Running warm up/down (Warmup and Cooldown) 15:00 [3] 3.0 km (5:00 / km)
slept:9.0 shoes: Addistar Long Distance Spikes

1km warmup and 2km cooldown. My warmup was reduced as I was running late.

Running intervals (Track - Intervals) 17:30 [5] 5.0 km (3:30 / km)
slept:9.0 shoes: Addistar Long Distance Spikes

The session was 5*800m with a 200m recovery. The conditions were poor and my slowest time was during heavy rain.

1) 2.34
2) 2.32
3) 2.30
4) 2.36
5) 2.28

I was hoping for 2.30/lap however was just outside. I found the extra distance to be tough. I think more of these longer track sessions are necessary. My legs and my body in general has been feeling a lot better given that I am only training once per day. I think I might try and reduce the double sessions where practicable.

The run felt very easy. I started slowly and managed to hold 4.30/km without much effort at alll.

Running (Run into work) 36:27 [3] 8.0 km (4:33 / km)
slept:9.0 shoes: Brooks Glycerin (8)

I purchased heat packs yesterday and placed them on my back over night. This seemed to ease the soreness in my back for my run in. My legs were stiff in areas. Apart from that and the wet and windy conditions the run in was fine. Not run tonight as I have indoor soccer.

Considering the hard run yesterday I was happily surprised to see that I was not very tired waking up this morning. Resting a lot on Saturday made a big difference I think. Also no signs of a cold that was looming at the end of last week.
