Nice one with Ewan down the coast with a very fat tailwind, followed by, you guessed it, a dirty headwind! Luckily ya man Ewan is quite the beast on the bike, so I happily let him do a 45min turn on the front back to Ed. Legs popped on the last "climb" out of Musselburgh but grinded back for a flat white at RedBox and a Full English scran back at the flat, lavely.

Avg HR was a bit lower this week on same run and fair a bit faster. Quad starting to feel a bit dodgy after an hour however...come to the hypothesis it's just these shoes which are setting it off (Nike Structure), which is a bit of a ballache as they were quite expensive. Going to take the precaution and x-train tomorrow instead. Still, have done all the 'quality' sessions i wanted to do this week and swapping the long hilly run to a cycle isn't going to make much difference.

Lap of the seat and Meadows. Result = Failed Raz and a fat off blister.

Wore NB's with insoles in and no niggles what so ever,winning! Legs felt a lot more in sync, only problem was - got a fat off blister the size of my head on the side of my foot. Will have to see how quad reacts, last time it was the day after it got a bit dodge.

Very little sleep last night after a fair bit too much wine after a dinner party and then up at 7am for drills. Felt pretty grim and took ages for me to feel good, got a good session done though. Running with Ali & Jonny (apart from dropped off a bit on the 2nd rep) and managed to get a cheeky last rep glory with a random surge of energy, which tbh isn't much of a feat after these boys just smashed the fra's! Felt really tired when I got back to the flat though so a big sleep is in order.

Took physios advice about my Simone Niggli knee and just wore old shoes for this session, which nicely did the job of just shifting the niggles from the left side of my leg back to right. No pain though which was good but could definitely feel my knee pronating in a bit more though and my IT tightening a lil.

Was gonna cross train today, but fucked it and slept in till 9. Not a problem though as can just switch Fridays rest day around. Probably good to let the quad settle a bit as well.

More Testing

Phsyio synopsis: New shoes with more arch support loading other muscles that wouldn't normally been used. So should gradually bring in the use of new shoes and still wear old shoes for some of sessions. Quad a lot less sore today.
