Orienteering 17:45 [4] 4.0 km (4:26 / km)

Euromeeting Sprint

Speed felt quite good but made the most retarded of mistakes - got really disorientated when counting off the sides of a building and convinced myself i was on the wrong side, shit it and doubled back and lost like 50s then rushed a bit and went down a wrong alley a few controls on to loose another 20-30s. A frustrating race on a quite easy sprint to end a frustrating weekend. Also think I could of pushed harder earlier on.

Running 29:57 [2] 3.58 km (8:22 / km) +1m 8:21 / km

Long warm up, legs felt a lot better than expected especially after the long. Did a big stretching session the night before as well.

Orienteering 2:02:00 [4] 17.0 km (7:11 / km) +600m 6:06 / km

Euromeeting Long

Bit of an epic long distance today.Long, lonely and brutal! Really fun and a great challenge, yet so frustrating - orienteering is so fucking annoying!

Was physically pretty good today. And I'd say for about 29/35 of the controls were pretty alright. Yet I managed to fuck two of the controls i made mistakes on really, really badly - one 7min mistake and one 5min mistake and then some other shitey ones. Both coming from some poor compass, yet i can use my compass well for the majority of the course? Time loss totalled about 15-20mins today, Shite.

Compared splits with Arnaud (who went on for a solid race for a junior) after and we were both on 49 just before the butterfly and just before my mare.

So still quite motivating to see I felt physically quite good and had a solid start to the course which was my goal after yesterdays bad start, and a lot of the course I was actually quite decent!... but at the same time it's just a bit shit I can't put one completely stable race together atm, meh. Something needs to change! Analysing my races a lot atm which is going well so for next season I can try and work on my weaknesses. Can't tell if it's just from loosing concentration or just bad technique, probably a bit of both.

At least I checked my codes today...

Orienteering 41:50 [4] 6.7 km (6:15 / km) +250m 5:16 / km

Euromeeting Middle +9:19 on Tranchand

Shaky start on 1 and 2 then got my head together from there and was pretty decent to the finish, navigating pretty well.

Unfortunately man was bit of a mongo and coming out of the green to 19 - went straight to the girls controls which was in the depression next to our re-enterant. Numerous people did this but i was too ard to check my controls. Thats probably why i couldn't make it fit straight away on the next control. Time was alright though and would of been mixing in with the top French jwoc boys from this year so thats good. Enjoyed today overall though and not too put off by misspunching.

Long tomorrow, gonna check my control codes, gonna be better!

3 x Laps of the Seat with Euan,Jack R and a big name appearance by Big Dog Matt Felbaum turning up with a golden Mountain bike, no lights and no helmet #spicy. Hardish, moderate, easy on the hill bit of the loop. Legs strength definitely a limiting factor. Great fun.
