Orienteering 47:27 [4] 8.5 km (5:35 / km) +230m 4:55 / km

Lakes 5 day 1

1:10 miss to number 1! Rushed a bit out of the start and didn't give enough time to get into the map. Good after that, planning well and looking ahead very good, and felt really strong on some legs. 20 second loss further on, finding it hard to match some vaguer hills to the map. Tiring towards the end especially after two face plants in deep marsh, really hard to get going after that, bit fatigued from all the training recently. Really good fun even though it was in a monsoon.

Pairs sort of o intervals with Dane.
PDP on my own, going really well until I slipped and cut my arm open, 5 hours later I finally got 6 stitches done.

Session with bash.

Climb up wansfell (again) felt okay. Pairs downhill Oing concentrating on picture instructing the runner in front of you where to go, some extra controls and different route to my last training on here. Went well.

Cross training 45:00 [3]

Swimming/aqua jogging/sculling/treading water... Actually really tough! Good banter with the boys, Big respect to Ali.

Tough hilly run in the howgills, had a lot of fun. Legs a bit sluggish from yesterday's training.

Run from Ambleside to the summit of wansfell 482m, ran above the low cloud level.

Lakes 5 day training from the summit back to the bottom set by Bilbo, really nice course. Focused on a bit more planning and visualising, good par two legs and a bit of sloppy compass uphill on one leg.

Run back into ambleside to the car.

Hilly easy run with Hollie around Birkrigg. Throat felt a bit weird, hopefully sleep that off.

Nice ride down the coast.

Note

Oringen was a excellent, such a fun experience, felt very unfit during the week, really think our boys holiday took it out of me a bit. Technically getting a bit better towards the end of the week. 52nd overall,nothing special. A top 20 would definitely be possible if I was in shape.

Feel like I really need to refocus my orienteering though, not visualising legs as well I should be, and not planning as well as I used to. A lot of time to get my technical side up to scratch again for JEC. Real training starts now.

Orienteering 1:10:00 [3]

Run out to the forest and did half of a course from some pre 10-mila training.
Legs felt a bit sluggish. Went technically okay but had no real flow and a lot of hesistations, didn't have a good feeling about my orienteering.
