Orienteering 1:01:30 [3] 10.0 km (6:09 / km) +85m 5:54 / km

blue 7.4k

Dreadful, felt physically sharp throughout but mentally wasn't concentrated today ... made minute mistakes here and there throughout the course(5 minutes) and then two big mistakes a 3 minute mistake on a rather easy leg lost contact of my bearing and the map. lost 7 minutes on 12 a quite discrete clearing ...don't know what i did .. just ran round in circles like a headless chicken.

even with a clean race I wouldn't beaten joe, he's just ridiculously consistent atm and got faster :P I just need to adapt to southern terrain better at least none of the big races are down south next year.

overall good banter with squad as per usual, really annoyed with race but ill bounce back ?

Note

looked at the next selection race area on febuary 4th open moorland up north fast terrain just to my liking ! :D no point thinking about that too much now, got british schools next.

5K Off lines I think

matt caught me up and followed me around ....still banter wasn't pushing too hard just a laugh not serious still beat joe and dane...not what was going too happen the day after.

Running 1:00:34 [2] 11.0 km (5:30 / km) +100m 5:16 / km

decided not to run today , but then pete phoned me up and forced me on a run because he is unfit, ridiculously slow pace because pete is slow as because he is a tennis player, anyway had a bit of banter, calf was hurting a bit from not lifting my legs off the ground because of jogging slow , but after I got running in the last K it loosened up :) bring on the selction race :D

Orienteering race 33:22 [4] 6.6 km (5:03 / km)

SHIT SHIT SHIT ! got off to an easy start then to 5 went down wrong road and had to go back on my self , made bare mistakes aswell one, i was concentrating on running so much to catch chris i followed him up on road that took us to the edge of map ! made a few other mistakes aswell mainly shit routechoice and having to go back on myself which happened 3 times :( I have never been that good at urban just run too fast and cant take in the map at the speed especially when its dark with a shitty headtorch :O . need to work on my sprints :/ otherwise im gonna be no good for the JK one and the british sprint ! need to take in the map even if it means slowing down slightly more and plan ahead.

mistakes = 6 minutes :/ major one was about 3

Good news : my knee feels better! :) and i can run fine on it.

Running (bleep test) 13:17 [4] 2.55 km (5:13 / km)

just me angus and fraser going well- felt fine , shoes were just to slippy and i was all over the place at the line - wasting lots of energy angus got to 14 5 or so i got 13 7 still faster than him at races though ;)

Note

hopefully i've got all the shit out of the system by doing a bad race today ! training with scjs the day before so to get into the terrain and other sprint race for me too get better at that benham is organising:L need to get in the right frame of mind for this weekend.

Running 50:23 [3] 11.3 km (4:28 / km) +100m 4:16 / km

rough idea of climb ill find out when mike logs on with his garmin.
run with mike rich angus jamie and lizzie. a average paced run, up priory road then turning up to bardsea then turning up past the gold club (quite hilly) through lanes then onto the A road and back into ulverston. cut the run a mile or so short with angus and mike because mikes calf was hurting a bit, good thing because i was dieing for the toilet :L good to have a chat with lizzie she's top international fell running athlete , found out she used to orienteer and went to JWOC, talked about doing physiotherapy at university and sport science which is something I'm serious about doing . could be good to do at edinburgh because of the orienteering also 4 th best sport science uni.

joints a bit achey due to lack of road running.

Note

left knee a bit sore after road run
