Nice one with The MElk to finish the year. Good catch up and a nice bit of terrain bashing in and round Summer House Knott and High Dam. Was thinking about heading up the hills but was a yellow forecast and what not.

Loads of snow fell overnight so thought I'd take to the fells for the hunt for some pow pow. Lovely conditions once up there, only one other guy on the top of the old man. Fell pretty hard on the way down on some slush under the snow but nothing to major to report apart from a bruised elbow.

Turkey Race

Asthma was really bad today, so running was felt extremely laboured. Checked inhaler I used, expiry date was 2013 wooops.... just an old one I had in the car.

Orienteering awful for 50% of this - realised scale was 1:4000 when I got back no wonder why I overshot everything. The main problem stemmed from being really tired from asthma so I couldn't really concentrate I think though. Ended up racing with a 14 y old and Rob cos I kept missing everything...

Easy long run with Hollie. Newby bridge - Summerhouse Knott - High Dam - Rusland and back. Good chat so this run flew by. Really soft ground so nice on the legs.

Night-O on Esthwaite Intake pre running LOC club champs.

Brutal - Green and lots of windblown unmarked, 5m visibility in places due to mist, an average headtorch and no controls out made this very trick indeed. But all considering it wasn't that bad, definitely at least few "i'm in the vicinity of the control site, this will do" moments though.

Felt rather alive on this run mainly due to the fact the wind on the ridge was bumming me so hard I was literally clinging on for dear life to try and stay upright. Just about managed to wing it though and not fall down to my death. Probably the second strongest wind I've ever felt apart from the time I and Jack W had to sit down to avoid being blown off the Old Man. Was also met by knee-high snow on the top and sheet ice coming down, nice to be home :)

Lower left back very tight (probs after long drive) so was very uncomfortable on the way up.

60 mins in the morning and 30 mins in the evening. Watching Team Ingribritsen which is decent, still couldn't help myself from clockwatching a bit though, spinning is so dull. Managed to get my HR into zone 2 easier than other weeks now I've regained a little bit of cycling leg strength though.

Pentlands with Nich, Gregor and Liam. Lavely day and even colder today - full on wanker norsk look with buff over head and oakleys on, rocking it. Bit tired on the ups today and getting a fair bit of tightness/soreness in right calf/hip. Cross train tomorrow fo sho. Nice bit of coffee afterwards at the cafe.

Good response from my legs/body today after being a bit apprehensive about doing a hard session and mainly because of spell of illness(felt a bit poo on friday). Times solid and same paces euoc boys were running on tue. Calf a bit sore after session though - hard packed ground after freezing temperature overnight. Happy with this :)

Saw the podiatrist today and got a cast of my foot to be sent off to sent off to get insoles (for a disgusting amount of money, like really filthy). It better be worth it. The podiatrist said I have a low arch profile and then a lot more detail I really can't remember (the important stuff) as it was all in the 'biomechanics of the foot' lingo. Basically whatever it was is it a bit more prominent in my right foot, hence the problems down my right side. FASIC shuts over Xmas for two weeks so it looks like I won't be getting them till after the new year. In the meantime, I'll keep stretching/rolling and probably introduce a few more x-training sessions in for the easy sessions if my calf continues to play up.

1 x 6min - Headtorch died so couldn't do the session - i am a mong. Used to just using a Petzl so completely forgot to charge it. Contemplated doing it on meadows but the running on hard surfaces is aggravating niggles down my right leg. Plus just running back from the kf i felt pretty tired and hr a bit higher than usual.
