Holme Fell Long Training,

Took it steady, not very tired at the end so a good sign aerobic base is coming along well. Main foucs was on routechoice today and went pretty well, think I missed one routechoice back onto the fell where I could of taken a path instead of slogging through a marsh. Some legs switched off a bit and lack of plan, need to force myself to plan when it comes to nearer the end of a training/race.

Graythwaite.

Clean orienteering, Slow running: my shoe was literally falling apart so running was a bit of an effort to stay on my feet.

Orienteering 13:15 [3] 1.58 km (8:23 / km) +64m 6:58 / km

Contour only.

Ran this one hard with Mark and Andrew, flowing really well, caught up mark by two minutes, small 10s miss in the green, must use my commpass more strictly!

Warm up with Beth some on track, some in terrain.

Attack point exercise on Bishops Wood.

Re running some of the middle, mostl easly ran the two legs that I mucked up hard.

Ran this hard, all was going really well until I started orienteering from a control ahead of myself got really confused and then realised so just carried on ooops.

enjoyed it, wore spikes and was so much faster because the track is so slippy at this time of year.

Steady run, did the route Mark showed me: Union Canal-Walkway of Leith. Nice run, got a bit lost on the numerous paths around Walkway of Leith. Good Pace :)

Routechoice Long course with Joe and Mark. Went well, running strong and a bit faster than the other boys, nice and rested after not doing the parkrun.

Don't feel like death today had a nice 11 hour sleep, feel a lot better just really bunged up. Hopefully it will all be gone by tomorrow so I can train hard at the GBR squad weeked. Tempting to train these last few days but I'd rather miss 3 days instead of missing a whole week or so.

Lot of Uni work: Lab report due in(10 Pages) and got on with my continous assessment. Feeling a little bit ill so worked quite well I had a rest day today, hope to be well enough for long run tomorrow.

Run with the uni mates, Euan did one lap, jack did two laps. Easy pace, legs feeling a bit better today.

Boxed in at the start, people just pussyfooting all the downhill sections so impossible to get past! managed to start picking up lots of places though and suppose this was mentally good. Only poor part of the race was 2nd lap up the hill, arms were a bit cold and could just not get them pumping. Really, really fun race though! I'll know for next time to get near the front and not get stuck behind all the banter starters, defintely lost a lot of time from this.

Just me on my own today everyone's either injured or away. So slippy underfoot, every time I put my foot down it slipped backwards, head wind as well. Considering I was running 3:10's km for the 3mins efforts two weeks ago, think it was just the bad conditions making slow times. Might considering wearing spikes next time if it's as wet.

Scottish Student Champs,

Minging area, Pushed quite hard at the start and going well through the butterfly passed Alex when he missed and then caught Samuel, he took a fall on the leg to 20 so stopped to see if he was okay,(+30s) nasty bruise but once he said he was okay I went on venturing through the thousands of nettles and brambles. Felt like I should of pushed myself a bit harder around this point because felt like I was just in a bit of a cruising mode. Bad miss on 24 went up the slope to early, stupid mistake lost about 2:20 here.Bit of a lack of a plan as I underestimated the control.Clean after that to the finish but lost quite a bit of momentum.

Orienteering race 13:43 [5] 3.5 km (3:55 / km) +20m 3:49 / km

Scottish Uni's Sprint Relay.

Set off In third behind Chris and another guy, only gaffle I had was no.1, managed to close down on Chris by taking a better route on 17, got ahead of him the next few but then he took the lead for the remaining few controls and just finished a few seconds after him to hand over in 2nd.

Arthurs Seat.

Just 50 mins earlier I was talking to Sasha about his bad Achilles, half way through the run my tightened up and feels a bit weird now :( Took it easier for the last 20 mins.

Unsure about what to do at the weekend...?

Felt okay on the hills once I got into a good rhythm.

Treadmill session with James.

If I can run on the most boring,mind numbing machine in the world for over an hour...I can get through any maths lecture at 9:15 in the morning; real confidence booster.

4:15 for 20mins 4:10 for 20 mins 4:05 for 10 4:00 for 5mins then 3:50 for 2m30 then 3:30 for remaining 2:20 then cool down.

Legs felt good today, it all felt easy :)

Run to gym and back + running on one of the treadmills, set it for 4:10 mpk's and nearly got thrown off the back, turns out it was in mins per mile lol.

Meant to go out on a long one today with Ali but he was feeling a bit Ill. Struggled to find the motivation myself so just went to the gym.

Sucks that there is like no one at HW to train with.

Ian Scally Road Relays,
Really really bad idea doing this after Haloween last night haha, felt awful! Went out like a steam train straight through two teams, got to like halfway and just died! Barely had breakfest and was sweating a some substance out which wasn't sweat. Very very happy to see the finish line. Didn't drop any places which is alright.
