Long Run 7:00:00 [3] 22.6 mi (18:35 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Cascadias

I know that the distance isn't that great but I think that the course warrants the slow time. I started at the Sheephead Gulch Trail at the bottom of the Hope PAss trail. I ran from the TH to Winfield and then back. I then hiked to the top of Hope Pass (about 1:!5 up) and then down. It was about 10 miles. I did this twice. Both laps were right under three hours. The last hour, I hiked up the Hope PAss trail again and then ran back down- I made it about halfway.

I stayed super-hydrated and ate quite a bit including a couple of sandwiches and a banana besides the standard Gu every hour and energy drink most of the time. No injuries and I could have kept going when I was done. It was great to be out on the course and gain confidence out there.

Long Run 20:00 [3] 11.5 mi (1:44 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Addiction 9

Another long run on pavement. Again, I know this is a very slow pace but my legs just wouldn't move faster. I felt fine, I just couldn't go faster. If these pavement runs don't toughen up my legs, I don't know what will. I think I am coming along, but boy do I miss the trails :). Also, we are so lucky to have such great runs in CO, Kansas is nice, but it isn't the same.
