Long Run 3:00:00 [3] 13.6 mi (13:14 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Cascadias

Bergen Peak Trail Run. Averaged about 13:10 per mile. This run includes more than 2400 feet of gain in the first 4 miles.

I felt like I was 80%. I think I am back though. I hydrated with at least 22 oz per hour and at least 200 calories per hour. Not fast but it was nice not to feel like I was running through mud.

Weights 30:00 [3]

Leg weights- squats, leg extensions, power cleans, leg press. hamstrings got really tight so I stopped.

Walking 40:00 [3] 2.67 mi (14:59 / mi)
shoes: Nike frees

5 minute warmup and cooldown.
10 mintes 4.2 MPH at 10%; 10 minutes at 11% (I was spent after this), 10 minutes at 9%.

I was pretty tired after this workout. Will hydrate and rest for tomorrow for sure.

Weights 40:00 [3]

Leg weights- didn't do as much weight as I had been (about 85%) felt decent. We'll see how it goes this evening on the trails in terms of energy levels.

Hill Intervals 1:30:00 [3] 8.0 mi (11:15 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Cascadias

Chimney Gulch trail run in the rain. Felt much better!

45 (30:30 up and 14:30 down) minutes easy = 3.83 miles

second interval was hard with 4 rest periods of several minutes but I started back at the same place.

24 up and 12 minutes down. It was a bit wet so I couldn't go as hard down. Avg pace was 9:09 with some really good uphills.

Finished it off for total run of 1:30.

I felt much better and we'll see how this goes into the weekend long runs. Fingers crossed!

Recovery Run 1:20:00 [3] 8.4 mi (9:31 / mi)

Another slow long run in the rain. I averaged about 9:30 pace. I felt better in terms of energy levels and I think I could have done the trail run on the schedule but it was lightning like crazy. I will try it tomorrow. I haven't felt sick at all so I don't know what I have. Will be careful.

Recovery Run 45:00 [3] 5.13 mi (8:46 / mi)
shoes: Nike frees

I have no idea but I still felt very lethargic so I did another easy run today. I did 4X1 minutes intervals at about 6:30 MPM and these were hard. I have reviewed the following:

1. I have no been drinking alcohol.
2. I have been getting 8+ hours of sleep.
3. I have been drinking 3 liters of water a day, at least.
4. I have been eating generally the same diet that I have been.
5. I began taking fish oil capsules about a week ago. I have discontinued these.
6. No more caffeine than usual.

My resting HR (sitting, not after waking up) is still around 50 BPM which is relatively normal. Weight is generally the same as it has been.

I have no idea why I have been struggling but I will keep you posted. My lower back has also been quite sore for about a week. It feels like it is between two vertebrae and not a muscle (it is down on the lumbar spine). No idea why.

Weights 25:00 [3]

Upper body weights- also felt quite weak.
