Spinning 51:34 [4]
ahr:153 max:189

Spinning at the Mardyke, good cardio workout and good workout for the legs. Class started off easy enough and was even able for the standing sprints. Last few tracks were tough work, sprinting against high resistance. He kept us the full 50 minutes which was excellent.

Note

Rest day tomorrow, then I've decided to go to Banna (Munster League orienteering) on Sunday morning rather than the IMRA race on Claragh that evening. Will probably enjoy the O more and the weather's meant to be good. I need a good break from the books!

BOC Score-O event around Currabinny. Not technically difficult but lost time on one control in particular. I blame my trail runners as it was a downhill leg and I couldn't grip the path at all and slid past the control! One bad route choice as well midway through the race meant I gave myself extra climb. Good fun though

Spinning 41:13 [4]
ahr:152 max:180

Good spin class at the Mardyke. Haven't been able to go to the Tuesday lunchtime class since last summer. I like this one cos the teacher is good craic, she usually has good choons and she lets you work as hard as you want and won't crucify you. So put in a good effort today. Rest day tomorrow, although it doesn't feel like I've done 4 days in a row, but I should probably focus on the books more tomorrow. Will be orienteering on Thursday - you know it's the summer when you get to go orienteering twice in one week!

Nice 5k or so around the Lough... much better than Saturday as it was on grass, and had done some stretching beforehand. 5th lap was feeling tired, but kept pace fairly steady throughout the run. Forgot my iPod so was treated to a selection from my subconscious. Tried to think about yesterday's routes for a while but that only lasted for about 200 metres. Checking Garmin data... 5k time was 22'01'; fairly pleased with this as I wasn't out to set any PBs today.
Not a bad day at all to be getting older... but only another 6 years as an M21!

Running warm up/down (Warm-down) 6:15 [1] 1.09 km (5:44 / km)

O training in Tír na Spideoige with some of the lads from the club (and one wannabe). Really great to get out training on class days like this, on brilliant terrain. I'd never ran here before. Ran Danny's Cork League course from 2 weeks ago (Blue), was tough with no controls out! 18 controls but cut out 11, 12, 13 due to time constraints.
Looking at my route afterwards, there 6 (of 15) controls where I knew exactly where I was, I was in the circle for about half of the rest of them, and there were a couple where I was way off. Excellent training and I need to do more exercises like this.

Swimming 25:00 [3]

Felt like going for another run, it was such a good afternoon. But decided to give the legs a break from the impact
