Really good run today in Doneraile Park. Perfect January day, sun shining and ground crisp underfoot, with mist still lingering over the hills. All the small ponds around Doneraile were frozen. Wasn't sure how far the perimeter run around the park was, turns out to be almost exactly 5km. Was feeling good after the first lap so went around once more after 50sec stretching. Hill up the east side of park was hard as I've done no hill training all year, but stuck at it and am pleased enough with the (adjusted) pace. Did a bit of exploring around the map during warm-down. Rest day tomorrow and probably Monday too, will do some stretches. Shins a bit tender (though not at all while running/walking) so could probably benefit from some ice also.

Spinning 47:18 [3]

This Friday evening class isn't as intense as some of the other instructors... still had a couple of tough climbs and nasty sprints though

+ Stretching for about 5 mins.

Great run today at the UCC farm, seemed to have lots of energy but obviously haven't been running since Saturday. Cold air but fantastic sunshine and the muddy parts of the pitch were frozen over and crunchy. Took 150m off for 1:30min after about 6km, just to catch my breath. HRM still not working, must get a new battery.

First run around with new Aldi headphones too. Don't usually run with music but it was a great distraction. They're in-ear headphones with Spock-like hooks, though still had to wedge them in place with my hat. Must keep an eye out for headphones that mould to the shape of your ear

Spinning 52:07 [3]

Early start. HR strap not working, hope it's just the battery. Planned a jog after spinning but the track was covered in ice & the pitch next to the gym is out of bounds to runners, guess it got damaged during the last cold snap.
