Hiking (Up) 3:30:00 [4] 5.3 mi (39:37 / mi)
shoes: Red Salomon

Hike up Wrightson with Meaghan, Kate (+Loki, Kima), Celina (+Amber), Nadja and some of her friends. We were supposed to meet at 6:30 at Nadja's house, so, predictably we were all there when Kate, Celina and the dogs rolled up closer to 7. We got on the trail probably 8:30ish, and were at Josephine saddle around 10:30 (where we broke out possibly the best collection of snacks ever and had first lunch).
The hiking was slowed by a variety of things, including just slow hikers (totally cool), but also every time other hikers passed the dogs had to be corralled and leashed (super obnoxious). Dogs that listen, totally fine. These dogs: worst trail dogs ever. And, because they are dogs, they of course are nearly running up the trail, but I felt a little bad for them because I think they could have definitely used more water and a snack (I mean, we ate a ton, I'm pretty sure they just got little treats).
Anyway, when we got to the spring, I decided to just head to the peak and chill out while they all stopped (again). I got to the top a little before 1, and hung out until the rest of the group showed up for lunch around 2:30. We started back down around 3; this time I was bringing up the rear. This was in part to not get tangled with dogs, in part to be with Meaghan and in part to save my knees. We got to the parking lot around 6:30, as the sun was setting. It was a long day. But then back at Nadja's, her husband Phil had made us dinner, which was waiting with cold beers- super awesome.

Road Biking 2:25:00 [3] 32.25 mi (4:30 / mi)

Ride with Amanda down Columbus to the Rillito path out to Marana where Pima County has now connected it to the Santa Cruz path (The Loop) and back up to 6th/St. Mary where we stopped to get a raspado before heading up 3rd street to get back home. So, that was nearly 30 miles without any cars. Pretty cool!
