Orienteering race (sw gallopen godshill NF ) 1:07:45 [4] ** 12.63 km (5:22 / km) +180m 5:00 / km
spiked:20/24c (injured) shoes: Inov8 oroc 280 (old)

wimborne gallopen at godshill and millersford new forest

ran brown as it was the appropriate distance for the November classic.
started 3 mins behind jack because he said he trained on the area so i didnt want him to catch me up as i wanted to concentrate on my own run . started well very easy for the first 2 controls as you could see where abouts the controls were across the moor. lost a bit of time on 4 as it was a distinctive tree and there were loads of trees and i ran to far up the hill looking for a distinctive one but they had just but the control on a random tree ( + 1 min ) ran well through to 10 felt pretty strong through the heather . not much navigation needed here. saw jack about a min ahead at this point and pushed hard up the long hilly leg to 12 to catch him .caught him at 13 just after entering the forest he backed off a bit and let me lead to 14 but i took the wrong path as i had lost concentration and started heading up a long hill didnt realise to about 400m up it and then cut across through a load of green bushes to get back on track ( + 2 mins ) ran hard to 16 to try and close the gap back up but lost a bit of time on 16 by coming out to east (+ 30 secs ) ran hard to 18 and saw jack leaving the control but got confused to where it was and lost ( + 1 min ) by getting the dried out stream confused with the earthwall . pushed hard to the finish .

came 1st :D , a minute ahead of jack :D felt pretty good for the distance and felt like i was running well . achillies hurt most of the way round but didnt stop because i was having a good run. going to take 3 days of running.

jog to the start with jack . walk back with jack didnt do a jog warm down just walked back . lots of stretching

bok Saturday league 1 event at rocks east

first time at this area . very very hilly and very very overgrown. started off well spiking 1 and 2 very steep running along the ridges though . bit confused on no .3 by the unmarked path which even the planner agreed with me wasnt quite right . had to trek through a load of undergrowth to correct my error ( + 45 secs ) hit 4 and 5 well although 4 was definetly not a boulder. lost about a (min) on 6 by being to north got a bit better after that and felt like i was running really well on the second half of the map . lost a bit of time here and there through execution but nothing major :)

my tonsils have sorted there lives out and i feel fine now :) achillies seem to be being a bit wierd they really tighten up after running i give them loads of stretching and then there fine and feel fine and then tighten up after running again :L hopefully nothing serious but going to have an easy week next week to be on the safe side :)

throat feeling a lot better today :) Achilles also feeling a lot better still need to have a rethink about training over the next couple of weeks though , going to try and stay off road as much as possible

was getting bored sat around doing nothing so went for a easy cycle out to barrrrtttthh and back . went up through downend onto the cycle track by staple hill and along the BB railway path all the way to bath to the beggining of the towpath track then turned around headed back but along the ring road path from warmly. was quite nice quite empty :)

On half term now so got a really good lie in today so im not feeling tired anymore :) throat still got a massive lump but its not stopping me carry on normally with life :) think its probably a slightly less bad version of katherine's tonsilitus :L but it should be fine :)

wasn't really feeling like doing intervals with club so i ran out to purdown through Oldbury court out to the logs by the lake and did 5 long reps up one of the hills to another set of logs and back it was roughly about 1:40 up then a slow jog back down as recovery. then did 2 x short steep reps up to the monument. then finished off by running back along the frome valley up to threshold pace from snuff mills to the stream. felt pretty good actually probably from a good nights sleep. left Achilles felt fine but my right Achilles is a bit tight now :(

Cycle into and home from school . Even Colder today and my things felt so numb it felt hard to pull the brakes :/

Feeling a bit crap very tired still so not going to do any running today . Also have lump in my throat but its not to bad , achillies feeling a lot better today but with all this i think it would be stupid to train today :L

orienteering/long run/ terrain run

went out for my long run but mum wanted me to have a look round the her Saturday league green course. so i ran up to purdown past uwe ( 4km ) and ran round the green from the top of the ridge. stopped at 11 and went back under the m32 and along the river in Oldbury court to the stream whee i stopped.

felt heavy/tired/ bored for most of it but im glad i got out :) getting very bored of this run now need to find somewhere new to go which is also off road :L
