Orienteering race 56:10 [5] 4.5 km (12:29 / km)

Orienteering at Nobscot. I'd say about 80% of the race was good, the other 20% being mistakes on 8 and 9. 8 was a boulder after a green/swampy area, and my initial approach was good, running on a bearing, crossing a stream, up a hill. But then I confused a lighter green section (which seemed sort of marshy to me) with the actual swampy area I wanted to attack from. so I was looking in an area of cliffs and rocks 50-100m away from the actual control. #9 was just sloppy, should have played it safe and found the trail but instead I aimed off a little too much and ended up west of both the control and the swamp it was in- realized that after a minute or two.

Running 48:01 [3]

Went to the Cranberry Bog, like I was going to do yesterday before the lightening. Today it was basically a perfect temperature, beautiful weather and beautiful scenery. Also saw 5 baby geese. So pretty good run I would say

Orienteering race 16:52 [3] 2.4 km (7:02 / km)

Menotomy Rocks. Highest course was an Orange so I ran that as a sprint. Felt very good about it... although I guess I actually MP'd and went to the wrong control for #7 (went to a control on a cliff about 50m south of the actual control). I guess I was sort of asking for it because I wasn't really checking control codes. Anyway the run was still very encouraging because my calves felt ok, I felt pretty fast and in touch with the map.
