Pine Log
My ankle has been poopy lately. One run and it's days of being barely able to walk. I'm getting to the point of understanding I just can't do this any more. The pain is not worth it.
I took MC out to Pine Log to run with the area's champion CC runner. This guy would make any mother proud. He is the most decent guy, shows excellent sportsmanship. At one of the track meets, he stopped by MC's school "tent" to say "hi" and wish everyone a good run. One of the kids muttered "is he here to rub it in" but no, he was just being sporting, something that is not so common here in the sport man-eat-man environment. Since he's done that, MC's school now cheers for him, something that's almost unheard of; one school cheering for another's athlete. He deserves it.
So Champ had a nice easy long run. MC, on the other hand, had a tempo run. They ran about 6 miles.

After running the short loop, I tried to chase down the boys on the long loop. I'm afraid they just beat me to the line.
I'm a little more cautious now-a-days since getting hurt, and the sand worries me more. Because I'm not riding as confidently, sand is much more "sucking" if that makes sense. Makes your wheel go out, hard to balance.
Wasn't a stellar ride, but a nice day to get out.
