Day 2 - West Point Green Y
Much better day. Started off with some chocolate milk in my morning tea (didn't have reg milk, I'll have to try this again as it was delish!) and some contemplative yoga under a tree in the event area. The goal of this day was to ENJOY myself, b/c Day 1 I really didn't. Nice walk to start with Hughmac3.
#1 - took a longer route to avoid climb
#2 - got a little discombobulated with contour reading- really need to work on this. So complex! I picked up a walking stick and used it to help me get down this really steep rocky hill. I was having fun here.
#3 - Ran in to Julie Keim here! It's fun seeing her out on the course.
#6 my Fave control - all downhill and you could see for miles ahead in the forest, the rocky area and then the trail to the meadow area. Just beautiful and a fun frolick downhill.
#10 Saw someone pooping near here. Come for the orienteering, stay for the naked asses....
#11 Up the huge huge cliff - I definitely took the "high" road on this control. Cool meadowy area up here. In a pack of exhausted people.
#12 Stayed high and thankfully there was the bare rock to confirm my location
Finish - think I should have gone to left of reentrant down to trail as it was a bit easier going. Could have pushed a little harder here.
What a fun finish location and super day. Orienteering is so much more fun when you do well. :) Truly enjoyed my family's company and would have been up for a 3rd day! Best WP of my O career so far (this is my 3rd one.)
