Drove north, completing car journey in 4 hrs 45 min. (Almost stopped to do Green Lane on the way - but I wanted to beat the Sunday traffic.)
Went to Horn Pond woods - jogged on trails for most; went OFF trails into pine forest and other areas just zig zagging and getting lost. That was fun!

training w ed scott at FCE: we went slow, looking at contours, doing compass bearings, and he gave me some neat tricks like taking a 'back' bearing - where you can see a feature you recognize on the map in the distance, and how to take a bearing to figure out where you are in relation using compass. also learned that depressions are always oriented north, (on the map-the U points north - did not know that,) and i feel more solid about charcoal terraces (hey, they have black soil under them!) as well as re-entrants. more thoughts later on the blog.

TNT Tyler with Sandy F and Dasha. Did some running. My first experience running with a headlamp - it was very ethereal. I liked it. Then live online chat w/NAOC stars, and delicious dinner w Clem Tom O Sandy and Dasha. Those sorbet things were amazing! And the music was stellar. ;)

how do you stretch the outside of your calves? i am so sore from sunday...i was really on my tip toes a lot trying to get through the trash. makes me wonder about shoes.
