Had another look around Tyler. Ran into Karl Ahlswede, prepping overgrown trails for next week's event. We had a nice chat. Lost my Ray Ban sunglasses, saw some baby deer, met an English Mastiff (bigger than the deer,) bought a cheap vintage bike from the 70s on my way home! (Schwinn Breeze, 3 spd, and it's red.) Found a tick on the back of my leg while stretching- they are SO small. Now I'm looking at every tiny mark on my body with paranoia.

would have gone earlier except for the rain. reward for waiting was having my sister Fiona come along. it's nice to have a companion and makes things go faster with all the chit chat. her knees started bothering her at the end so we cut out the jogging intervals.

Tyler. Went with old Green map and a plan to just see what the place is like. B/c the parking was so far away from the start, I began in the middle of the course. (although now I find out I was in the wrong place, I followed old directions that said Boardwalk parking area, it was not.) Spent a fair amount of time in the area with all the buildings. Navigating around buildings doesn't seem like it would be hard, but somehow it was for me, maybe because I'm not used to it. After about an hour, I was only halfway done what I had set out to do, but felt really tired and hot and a little dizzy...like a piece of meat baking in the oven. Had to head home. Maybe I'll go back a little earlier in the morning next time!

wearing running shoes while playing tennis = not a good idea. played with julie, she is formidable! just volleyed, didn't play game. whew. also had a nice small hike with hmac3 today at a preserve with kestrel boxes. neat. saw horse back riders and hawks but no kestrels.
