ahr:108 max:156 shoes: INOV8 - Mudclaw 300

Park near Horsemoor Hills farm. Start by contouring to north of Little & Great Cockup to side of Lowthwaite Fell where I disturbed a fox. Climb Longlands Fell & then retrace steps to Lowthwaite Fell. Around head of valley top Brae Fell & then ridge to Little & Great Sca Fell.
Drop to Meal Fell & then descend west and climb Great Cockup in 2hrs 3omins. Contour due South (to west of Little Calva) t Skidaw House track beside Whitewater Dash falls. Last section very slow through heather. Climb Bakestall - quite steep - and drop back down ridge above Dead Crags. Back along tracks and road to car.

ahr:119 max:184 shoes: INOV8 - Mudclaw 300

Epic from Seatoller on sunny autumn day.
Walked up to Honister mine and then onto old tram track. Veered off to climb Grey Knotts, along ridge to Brandreth then drop & climb to Green Gable. Back down to Base Brown - 5 miles in 2hrs. Drop down Mitchell Cove & cross Styhead Gill & climb Seathwaite Fell - both tops.
Up to Sprinking Tarn and climb the Band & then nose of Great End. Quite exciting as north slopes still have ice and rocks covered in frosty rime. Carry on to Broad Crag & Ill Crag where rocks very frosty & slippery. Drop to Esk Hause & Allen Crags and then long ridge over many tops of Glaramara. Descent due north sketchy due to icy rocks. Head acros to Rosthwaite Fell, Tarn of Leaves and final climb up Bessyboot. Happy to drop down Dry Gill & return to Seatoller.

Overnight in Swinside Farmhouse B&B.
