Orienteering race 44:44 [4] 4.3 km (10:24 / km) +225m 8:15 / km

Scottish Relay Champs - First leg - it rained soon after the start - couldn't see the map, couldn't see where to put my feet, couldn't see where to punch with the dibber. Hard work.

Orienteering race 1:31:45 [2] 8.2 km (11:11 / km) +170m 10:08 / km

Scottish Champs - sooooooo tired before I started - so little sleep Friday night. Travelled up with Derek Fryer. No energy on warm day - in trouble from early on. Watched Roger Coombs, Bob Daly & Martin Dean all fly past me at different parts around the course.

Orienteering 53:45 [4]

Warrior BattleAxe #3 - Baysbrown Woods.
Had been coaching Langdale Primary at High Close YHA early afternoon - very warm spring day.
Didn't see optimum route but happy enough to trundle around the 17 I attempted. Was running with Sarah Atkinson & Julian Lailey at various points but lots of different routes & control sequences.

Run 1:45:00 [3] 6.0 mi (17:30 / mi) +200m 15:51 / mi
shoes: Salomon Fellcross

Parked in Ambleside - Hayes Garden Centre - ran across to Loughrigg, up and down several bumps with old gits. Then headed around Rydal Water to Rothay Manor and back along stony bridle path back into Ambleside. Very warm - dehydrated and tired - the rest have been getting stronger whilst I have been away these last few weeks!

Into the hills !
Torver, High Common, Brown Pike, Dow Crag, Old Man, Torver. Tshirt & shorts to start, then thermal as a rain cloud came through and finish as began in the sunshine. Tired but happy didn't push hard.
